1- Who are you?
Hey, I’m 19, living in Paris. I study law and economy.

2- Where are you right now?
Right now I’m in my flat waiting for the guy from chronopost to come. And I’m getting mad, cause I’m waiting for a very long time, and I’ll even have to pay some fees! Never use chronopost!

3- What’s your current camera set up?
Right now I’m making the switch from digital to film. So I used to shoot with a Nikon d70, 50 f1.8. A borrowed peleng 8mm from you (thanks again). But I had to sell this (except the peleng!) to get my new set up. This will be, Hasselblad 500CM and 150mm f4 for medium format, and a pentax p30 and a 50mm for 35mm. For lightning, my set up is kind of basic, one sb24, one vivi 285, and Quantum for triggering.

4- What’s your current skateboard set up?
Some 8’ deck, thunder trucks, I think the wheels are from hoon, and that’s it

5- What inspires you?
Day to day, I’ve no particular inspiration, I take photos when I feel like it.

6- Who inspires you?
Don’t know exactly, there are a lot of good photographers around..
I could have listed some long list of photographers, but in fact, i’ve no particular photography education, I just shoot things the way I like with some rules that I like to respect and well, I surely shoot things in the same way as someone already did, but I don’t realise that while I’m taking a photo..
In skate photography, there are Sem Rubio, Gaberman, Scott Pomier, Bertrand Trichet, Eric Antoine, Benjamin Debert, lots of them are really really good…
Ah and Fred Mortagne is one of the best around.

8- What was the last cool stuff you have seen on the web ?
I like those portraits here http://olivier.roller.free.fr/ that guy is amazing. Check his archives! Lots of good stuffs.
And I check this site http://piar.blogspot.com/ very often and it always surprises me.

1- Who are you?
My name is Ryan Allan. I’m way too old to be shooting this shit. I live where everyone else who does this lives.
I grew up in a real city full of life and culture and moved to a sun drenched, bleached out concrete strip mall infested state known as California.

2- Where are you right now?
As I write this I am drinking a very large coffee and wondering why my legs feel like I just skated in the LA downhill.

3- What’s your current camera set up?
Current camera setup is Nikon. I have a bunch of them.
If i need something different I either rent it or dig in my collection of old gear.

4- What’s your current skateboard set up?
I currently have a very standard street board set up.
Flip 8.1 deck, Thunder lows and Ricta slims.
 
5- What inspires you?
Its cliche but light inspires me. I sit at my dinner table and look out in the back yard and watch how the light falls on the trees around 7pm. I really like it. I dont photograph it cause it wont do it justice.
 
6- Who inspires you?
Creative people inspire me. I float around the web a lot and see new ideas people come up with. It’s incredible all the cool shit people make and yet i still drive down the street and see so many boring ugly things. Where does all the cool go once in the real world?

7- What was the last music track you listened to?
Really feeling Townes Van Zandt right now. Watch the doc Heartworn Highway.

8- What was the last cool stuff you have seen on the web ?
Ah there is so much out there. The podcast Coolhunting is a good one. coolhunting.com
 
9- Where can we see your work?
On the web i’m at ryanallan.com. I’m in a travelling art show right now called Rolling Perspective. Check colormagazine.ca for that one.
I guess I have stuff in all the mags as well. I hope my work is spotable but if not email me and tell me to get it together.

10- Anything you would like to add?
Since this is something that skate photo enthusiasts read. Please oh please don’t just copy what you see in the mags right now. It’s all getting so far from what it once was. I think all the skate photo how to articles have bred an era of bland skate photography. Think outside the box and CREATE!

Hi, my name is Nikita Yarutskiy, nickname is Vilkin. I’m 21 years old, live in Russia, Saint-Petersburg - second largest city in our country.

Now I’m at home, I must go to the university, there we have medical survey today. I’ll do it after that interview.

My setup is Canon 40d, Canon 1n, Lomo cameras, Zenit, Kiev 88 tll. Lens Canon 50 mm f 1.4; Tokina 10-17 mm f 3.5-4.5 fisheye. 3 x Pocket Wizard Plus II, 2 x flash Canon 540 Ez.

I ride on “Mild” deck – this is Russian skateboard brand, Jart wheels, Royal trucks, Bearings I don’t remember.

I like to watch photos on flickr, extreme magazines and some other photoblogs – where I can find a lot of great skateboard & snowboard shots. I love to do it everyday.
 
6- Who inspires you?
I’m inspired by works of my friends and great photographers in this industry.
I’m lucky that work with good riders - cause I have my website which is devoted to extreme sports (www.creammag.ru).
